Austrian Accession: Become Austrian for one day? You must be joking. In 2005 the municipality of Kiefersfelden, in the German state of Bavaria, decided to attach itself to the neighboring country of Austria. To celebrate the accession the town threw a "Welcome-to-Austria-Fest." But before residents started protesting too loudly, it was revealed that it was nothing more than a joke.
