German women's rights activist and author Seyran Ates argues that the headscarf worn in Muslim culture is "nothing but an expression of oppression and inhibition, and of the fact that the men would prefer to hide the woman." She says young Muslims are "burning up with passion. They have such a lust for life, and yet they are so inhibited."
