The European Pressurized Water Reactor (EPR) is set to become the world's first third-generation nuclear power plant. The first plant of its type to be constructed is located in Olkiluoto, Finland and was intended to serve as a model that could help fuel a global renaissance in nuclear power. Its construction, however, has been marred by building mistakes, cost overruns and serious delays. Even today, nobody knows exactly when it will start generating electricity.
