Victims of a massive flood in Jakarta, Indonesia in February, 2007: A different lifestyle is unavoidable to prevent the worst impact of climate change. If it doesn't happen today as part of a social and ultimately democratic movement, it will be implemented in a few years as a result of political and economic imperatives -- if, for example, oil reaches $200 a barrel. In the worst-case scenario, the reality of the climate crisis itself -- floods, storms, droughts -- will forcibly bring about radical change under unfavorable conditions.
