Over the last decade, European architects have helped reshape Beijing's skyline. But now Chinese architect Ma Yansong is turning that pattern on its head, winning a string of European architectural contests that will bring his experimental, eco-futuristic designs to the Continent. Pictured here is a model for his design for a residential complex near the Villa Borghese in Rome. In the background is a print of the helix-shaped Absolute Towers his firm, MAD Architects, recently built in Ontario, Canada.
