In the wild, rhinoceroses have been poached for their horns for decades. This wild rhinoceros was shot four times by poachers in Zimbabwe, despite having had its horn already removed by a vet to discourage hunters from targetting it. The poachers removed what remained of the stump. Conservationists found the injured animal four days later and decided to keep it alive.
