Leilomar, 30, is a housewife. Her husband, Nasar Mohamed, 32, is a professional painter. They married when Nasar Mohamed was 18 years old and now have four daughters. They live in Jordak in northern Afghanistan.

Leilomar, Nasar Mohamed and their four children. His wife is his "greatest treasure."

Nasar Mohamed: I had fallen in love with Leilomar and followed her on the way to school for years. I tried to attract her attention for four years, but she never noticed. Whenever I spoke to her, she always turned away. I tried everything to make her notice me. That's why I always opened an umbrella when I was near her, regardless of what the weather was like. We're related to each other. When I was 18, I went to my family and said that I would like to marry Leilomar. Leilomar's parents immediately approved because they're very pious and were afraid she might commit a sin.

Leilomar: It never occured to me that he would want to marry me. When my parents accepted his proposal, I was in agreement.

What do you love about him / her?

Leilomar: After the marriage I found out what a good person Nasar Mohamed is and that I can trust him. And so our relationship became more warm-hearted.

Nasar Mohamed: My wife is the treasure of my life. I love that we are so honest with each other.

What does love mean for you?

To us, love means faithfulness and a good relationship within the family.

What was the longest time that you were separated from one another?

Leilomar: After the wedding, Nasar Mohamed fought with the mujahideen in the war for one year.

Nasar Mohamed: I've been through a lot of wars.

What do you wish for?

That our life and our love for each stay the way they are now. And a son.
