On Dec. 14, 2008, an Iraqi journalist threw his shoe at US President George W. Bush during a press conference in Baghdad. In the Arab world, throwing your shoe at -- or even showing the bottom of your shoe to -- someone is considered a grave insult. Following the attack, orders for the shoe went through the roof, and the Istanbul-based maker of the shoe had to hire an additional 100 employees to help meet demand. Formerly known as Model 271, the shoe has now been renamed the "Bye Bye Bush" model.
