Keepers at Taronga Zoo in Sydney are welcoming a newborn Asian elephant to their ranks. The young male calf, who is yet to be named, was born to mother "Thong Dee" on July 4, weighing 120 kilograms (265 pounds). This little bundle of joy is the first Asian elephant calf to be born in Australia, and his birth is a success for the Australasian Conservation Breeding Program for Asian elephants, which is working to save this endangered species.
