Things may be looking up for environmental activists. China announced on Friday that not only would its Premier Wen Jiabao attend the Copenhagen Climate Change summit in December, it also unveiled its first firm target to curb greenhouse gas emissions. On Nov. 27 US President Barack Obama also promised to attend the summit. China is the world's principle producer of greenhouse gases and here a railyard worker, taking a break from unloading coal in the Chinese province Shenyang, emits some fumes of his own.
