Crude oil floats on the Yellow Sea near Taean, a town about 170 kilometers (106 miles) southwest of Seoul, South Korea. A transport ship collided with an oil tanker off the South Korean coast Saturday, spilling 2.7 million gallons of crude oil into an area known for its nature preserve and bountiful marine life. The oil spill is the worst in South Korean history and devasted flora and fauna along 11 miles of coastline.
