Germans can once again breathe easy. "Bernd das Brot," the famous character made popular by a children's television channel in Germany, has been found. A famous statue of the oft-depressed, wart-covered breadloaf had been missing since Jan. 21, when he was lifted from his spot near the city hall in the eastern German city of Erfurt. Playing children discovered Bernd in the cellar of a building in an unused industrial park in Erfurt. Police rescued Bernd, but found no trace of his captors -- despite a video of the bread loaf in captivity released on YouTube soon after his capture.
