Researchers wearing costumes approach giant panda Taotao and its mother, Caocao, in China's Wolong National Nature Reserve on Oct. 7. Taotao and its mother were transferred down from a 2,100-meter (6,890 feet) high mountain to the Hetaoping Research and Conservation Center for a health examination and to be prepared for reintroduction into the wild. During the process, researchers wear panda costumes to ensure that the cub's environment is as devoid of human influence as possible.
