One year ago, Egyptians had just started to take to the streets en masse. The trigger for the revolution was provided by Internet activist Wael Ghonim. But he is not interested in provided a face to the political upheaval. Wael broke down during a television interview on Feb. 7, 2011 after having been detained and blindfolded by Egyptian state security for 12 days. It was only after he had been let free that he learned about the deaths on the streets of Cairo.
