Photo Gallery Koblenz Quiet for Bomb Disposal

Koblenz became a ghost town on Sunday, as half of the city's 107,000 residents were evacuated to defuse a 1.2 ton bomb left over from World War II. Over 2,500 bomb detonators, police and paramedics ensured Germany's largest post-war evacuation was successful. The bomb was also succesfully defused.
