Late Tuesday morning, news broke around the world that a plane belonging to budget air carrier Germanwings, a subsidiary of German flag carrier Lufthansa, crashed into the French Alps en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf. A total of 150 people perished in the crash, including 144 passengers, four flight attendants, the pilot and the co-pilot.
