Afghan Leader Won't Go without Fight Karzai's Election Maneuver Provokes West

Many had figured he wouldn't seek reelection, but Hamid Karzai surprised critics and annoyed the West by throwing his hat into the ring and announcing Afghan presidential elections will be moved forward to the spring. He says the election date is in line with constitutional requirements -- but, in reality, his move is pure political calculation.
